Colonial

About This Project

Colonial Bar

The bar area was dark and dingy.  We added beautiful black cabinetry, smoked mirror backsplash, custom wrought iron wine racks and a tear drop chandelier to recreate a moody vibe where homeowners and their guests can have fun creating signature cocktails when entertaining.

Colonial Bedroom

This bedroom was already grand with ten foot ceilings and seven-layer crown molding.  We added beautiful furnishings including a velvet sleigh bed, oversized chest of drawers instead of nightstands to give proper scale to the room.  Oversized smoked mirrors and crystal chandeliers enhanced the grandness of the space.

Colonial Kids Bath

This en-suite bath in this kid’s bedroom was dark and dated.  We used Carrera porcelain tile on the floors and walls to make the space feel expansive.  We then incorporated a medium toned oak stain on the cabinet and brass lighting and fixtures to bring warmth back into the space.  The large-scale tambour like porcelain tile in the shower created a fun feature wall.  We also incorporated scalloped marble tile in the niche and shower floor for age-appropriate whimsy.

Colonial Kitchen

The original kitchen in this large home was undersized and lacked functionality.  We decided to incorporate the adjacent dining room into the kitchen to give this kitchen much needed square footage.  By removing the wall between the small kitchen and the formal dining room, we were able to increase the size of the kitchen, add a second island, add two full height pantry cabinets as well as a built-in hutch.  The functionality and flow of this kitchen now suits the busy lifestyle of this active family.

We chose to mix natural stained oak cabinets with sleek black cabinetry to create a dramatic space.  The integrated custom refrigerator and freezer panels were created in a chevron pattern.  We continued the same chevron pattern on the kitchen floor.  Brass lighting, hardware and fixtures added warmth to the space.  A double waterfall island added additional drama. Wolf, Sub-Zero and Miele appliances rounded out this chef’s dream kitchen.
